From Tike to Teen

I am a Third Culture Kid. This means Google will accurately inform you that I am adaptable, comfortable with nuance and ambiguity, and likely multilingual (moi, je parle français!). I am also a dual citizen in the EU and eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

It all began with a brief stint outside of DC, where I made my entrance, “looking like [my] grandfather with a nasty hangover.” My parents wasted no time whisking me around the world. I can eulogize an authentic Belgian Waffle, Fondue, or Croque Monsiuer like no other.

I spent my formative teenage years in the hometowns of Nirvana and Green Day (more or less), and to this day, I collect Dr. Martens and band tees like Tom Hanks collects typewriters.

The One Where Finley Fancies Herself an Academic

I graduated from Stanford University’s Online High School “before it was cool” and entered into five straight years of higher education where I earned two top-tier degrees in communication and branding/marketing at University of Southern California.

I was then offered a spot in a — arguably the — top Communication PhD program in the US (also at USC) to study media psychology. But, in a self-assured albeit unanticipated turn of events, I bet on my potential beyond nerdom and ventured out into “the real world” to start a career in branding.

Greetings From the BeReal World

Since 2016, my professional experiences have spanned across Marketing, PR, Creative, and Social Media/Digital Communications teams in a variety of industries. I have intermingled various freelance consulting projects, long-term contracts, and full time positions.

I am a marketing generalist and team leader, with skills in website design, copywriting, social media management, email marketing, art direction, experiential marketing, branding makeovers, creative project management, relationship and vendor management, and marketing strategy.
